Of the four teams expected for the tournament, the 3rd Street Mütants and Ragnarock Ravens were the first to arrive. After the beating the Ravens took in the Antares Autobowl, there were few Norse fans willing to follow their longship to the Dimmubowl, but thousands of beastmen emerged from the forest to cheer on the Mütants. The Mütants won the coin toss and elected to kick.
As the ball flew into the frigid air, the Ravens exploded off the line in a berserk fury, leaving beastman Viogor injured and knocking out another beastman and minotaur Olegox!
The Mütants quickly regrouped to cover the gap in their defences, and the Ravens smashed into them.
Gradually, the Ravens drove the outnumbered Mütants back, with Ravens lineman Tomas Haugen knocking out Mutants beastman Angor.
With time running short, Ravens thrower Thor Åkenskaldi made a break for it, covered by his team-mates.
With a heroic effort, Mütants beastman Shaungor managed to dodge past the Norse players and barreled into Åkenskaldi, knocking him into the crowd!
Some of the outnumbered Ravens fans in the audience got their hands on the ball, however, and threw it straight to the Ravens players on the end zone line.
Ravens catcher Leifur Eriksson had an easy job of it to score his team's first touchdown.
After a short final drive, the two sides regrouped for the second half. Still high on the adrenalin of their first touchdown, the Ravens launched a devastating blitz as they kicked off. The ball, though, landed in their half of the field and the Mütants were awarded a touchback.
The Mütants tried to run the ball down the middle of the field, but still outnumbered and missing their minotaur, they had a hard time of it.
In the scrum, Ravens blitzer Harald Hårdare injured Mütants beastman Kinzgor, and lineman Stian Tomt Thoresen sacked Angor, knocking the ball loose.
Leifur Eriksson grabbed the loose ball and ran down the field for his second touchdown.
Down by two goals, the severely outnumbered Mütants still had time for one reception, and were awarded another touchback.
Another scrum developed in the middle, and the Mütants were unable to advance the ball.
Beastman Gorgor made a desperate dash for the end zone...
...but the Ravens players caught up with him and he was sacked by Ravens blitzer Hans von Helvete.
Hans von Helvete secured himself a completion by passing the ball to Leifur Eriksson, but there was no time for any further action and the Ravens took home a 2-0 victory to kick off the Dimmubowl!
